Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has resigned and his Otzma Yehudit ("Jewish Power") party has withdrawn from Benjamin Netanyahu's government coalition in protest of the hostage release and ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, Kan radio reported.
Ben-Gvir called a press conference on January 16, during which he stated that he would resign if the Israeli government approved a hostage release and ceasefire deal in the Gaza Strip, noting that if hostilities in the enclave resumed, his party would be ready to return to the government.
