The first trucks with humanitarian aid entered Gaza just minutes after the ceasefire agreed between Israel and "Hamas" came into effect, the UN representative for the Palestinian territories announced today on the social network "Ex", quoted by Agence France-Presse.
"The cessation of hostilities finally came into effect in #Gaza at 11:15 a.m. today (local and Bulgarian time - ed.). "The first trucks with supplies started to arrive just 15 minutes later," wrote Jonathan Whittle, acting head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) for the occupied Palestinian territories, BTA reports.
Earlier, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that about 4,000 trucks with humanitarian aid were ready to enter Gaza, with half of the shipments containing basic food items and flour.
