Moscow: No good offer on the table to start talks with Kiev - 1

Moscow has not yet received a good offer to start talks with Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin after US President Donald Trump said that he believed that he was making progress in talks to end the war in Ukraine, reported "Reuters".

In an interview with RIA, Galuzin pointed out that it was important to back up the words with "practical steps that take into account Russia's legitimate interests, demonstrating readiness to eradicate the root causes of the crisis and recognize new realities". Specific proposals of this nature have not yet been received, he stressed.

Galuzin emphasized that Moscow remains open to dialogue on the war in Ukraine, but stands by its demand that Ukraine not join NATO and that Russians there retain their rights.

In recent days, there have been many contradictory or cautious messages from Washington and Moscow about possible negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine.

Yesterday, February 9, Trump said that he had spoken with Putin and expected more such talks, but a little later, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that he could "neither confirm nor deny" this news.
