The Russian Ministry of Defense reported a series of attacks by Ukrainian drones aimed at critical energy and gas infrastructure in Russia and the occupied territories in Eastern Ukraine, the BBC quoted the statement as saying.
According to official information, one of the attacks affected the infrastructure of the southern division of the company "Rosseti" in the Krasnodar Territory. As a result of the strike, the high-voltage line "Rostov NPP - Tikhoretsk No. 2", which is part of the energy network connected to the nuclear power plant in Rostov-on-Don, was disconnected.
Another drone was intercepted over the occupied Luhansk region, with its alleged target being a gas distribution station near the town of Svatovo. Another drone was neutralized over the annexed Crimea, near the ground equipment of the Glebovsk underground gas storage facility.
The Ukrainian side has not officially commented on the information, and an independent verification of the allegations is not possible at the moment.
We recall that during the last conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, a 30-day ceasefire was agreed upon on energy facilities of Russia and Ukraine, and it was reported that the Russian president had issued an order to stop these attacks. However, the Ukrainian side accused Moscow of striking Ukrainian energy facilities that very night. Moscow stated that the drones were launched before Putin's order and some of them were shot down on Russian territory by its own air defense.
However, Ukraine has not confirmed anywhere categorically that it intends to observe such a ceasefire, and the Ukrainian president stated laconically that if Russia attacks energy facilities, Kiev will respond in kind.
