Washington has received specific proposals on import tariffs imposed by the administration of President Donald Trump from more than 15 countries, the head of the White House National Economic Council, Kevin Hassett, announced.
„I can tell you that we already have proposals from more than 15 countries. "The US trade negotiator just briefed me on 15 countries, so things are moving quickly," he told Fox News, declining to name the countries.
Hessett added that a list of US tariff policy priorities would be presented to US President Donald Trump later on Thursday.
"I'm sure he'll have his own ideas on where to go next," the official said.
On April 2, Trump announced the introduction of tariffs on goods from 185 countries and territories. The universal 10% tariff took effect on April 5, the individual tariffs on April 9. On Wednesday, the US president said he was postponing tariff increases for 90 days for 75 countries that had indicated a willingness to negotiate - they would be subject to 10% import duties. Trump said he was open to discussing tariff levels with trading partners.
