The US has prepared a new package of anti-Russian sanctions to increase pressure on Moscow during negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, Reuters reported, citing its sources.
According to their information, the package of new economic sanctions may include restrictions on the banking and energy sectors.
As the agency notes, it is still unclear whether US President Donald Trump will agree to introduce new restrictive measures against Russia.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the US administration is not introducing new sanctions against Russia because it does not want to jeopardize the process of peacefully resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
