The US does only what is beneficial to itself, so Russia should act solely in its own interests, without being guided by the decisions of other countries, said the co-author of the program “500 Days“, the Russian economist and politician, founder of the party “Yabloko“ Grigory Yavlinsky.
“In the States, when people talk to me, everyone is generous and very kind. And when they discuss something among themselves, they put their own interests above everything. America does only what it understands and only what is beneficial to it“, the agency's interlocutor is convinced.
According to him, every country should adhere to its national interests. “My position is that my country and its citizens should know what we want and what we should do, and not rely on decisions made elsewhere“, said Yavlinsky.
“The decisions made by other countries are not directed against us, they simply live in their own way, and we should live in our own way“, he believes.
Yavlinsky noted that US President Donald Trump respects Russia and considers it a strong player.
“Trump respects Russia from the point of view of the fact that we are strong players for the United States. "He recognizes Russia, but only as a player," Yavlinsky added.
