Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett, who is among the five richest people on the planet according to Forbes magazine with his $168.2 billion, criticized US President Donald Trump's trade policy, the CNBC television channel reported.
"Trade should not be a weapon. "I think the more the rest of the world prospers, the more prosperous we will be, the more secure we and our children will feel," CNBC quoted the billionaire as saying at a meeting with investors at his holding company.
The television channel notes that Buffett did not mention Trump directly.
The billionaire warned investors that protectionist policies could have a negative impact on the US economy in the long term.
