The UK government plans to impose sanctions on 100 oil tankers from the so-called Russian shadow fleet, which is allegedly used to circumvent restrictions on the sale of Russian oil, Reuters reported.
According to the agency, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will announce the new measures at the European Defense Summit in Oslo on May 9. No further details were reported.
According to the Financial Times, the European Union, in turn, plans to include 149 oil tankers from the so-called shadow fleet in the 17th package of sanctions.
