Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that he may soon pay a visit to the United States, during which he could meet in person with his American counterpart Donald Trump, TRT Haber reported, quoted by BTA.
Erdogan made the statement to journalists on board the government plane upon his return from Budapest, where he participated in an informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
He commented on the positive development in Turkish-American relations, emphasizing:
“Turkey has built good relations not only with President Trump, but also with a number of other leaders.“
“I may visit the United States soon, where I believe I will have the opportunity to meet President Trump face to face,“ Erdogan added, noting that “President Trump has a very positive attitude towards Turkey.“
