The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that Israel is allowing minimal amounts of aid to the Gaza population, with almost no ready-to-eat food entering the strip, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

UN spokesman Jens Lerke said that 600 of a total of 900 trucks with humanitarian aid had been allowed to reach Israel's border with Gaza, which he described as "the hungriest place in the world". According to Lerke, obstacles related to bureaucratic regulations and security measures make it almost impossible to safely deliver aid to the region.

"We have only managed to deliver flour," the UN spokesman said at a regular press conference. "This is not ready-made food, is it? It has to be cooked... 100% of the population of Gaza is at risk of starvation," Lehrke added.

Tomaso della Longa, a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, said that half of the medical facilities in Gaza were not working due to a lack of fuel or medical equipment.

Meanwhile, Hamas spokesman Nassem Naim told Reuters that the group had received Israel's response to the US proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and was studying it carefully, although it did not meet any of the Palestinians' demands.

The US plan for Gaza calls for a 60-day ceasefire. In the first week of the truce, Hamas must hand over 28 captured Israelis, including the bodies of dead hostages, in exchange for the release of 1,236 Palestinian prisoners and the return of the remains of 180 more Palestinians.

The document, seen by Reuters, says that the guarantors of the plan are US President Donald Trump, Egypt and Qatar. It is planned to send humanitarian aid to Gaza as soon as "Hamas" signs the ceasefire agreement. The aid will be delivered by the United Nations, the Red Crescent and other agreed channels.

The White House said yesterday that Israel had agreed to the US proposal.

According to Israeli media, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the families of hostages held in Gaza that Israel had accepted the agreement presented by White House special envoy Steve Witkoff. Netanyahu's office declined to comment.
