Pope Leo XIV said he was concerned about the tensions between Iran and Israel and called for responsibility and prudence for the sake of world security.
"These days we are receiving very disturbing news. The situation between Israel and Iran has become much more tense. At this extremely delicate moment, I call for responsibility and prudence. The task of ensuring a world without nuclear threats must be carried out through mutually respectful communication and open dialogue for the sake of coexistence in justice, fraternity and well-being," the pope said at the end of an audience as part of the Roman Catholic Church's Year of Christian Jubilee.
"No one should endanger the existence of another. "Everyone must work to build peace, guarantee security and dignity," Leo XIV added.
