Israel: 50 fighter jets attacked nuclear project sites in Tehran - 1

“50 Air Force fighter jets flew over Tehran all night and attacked infrastructure and sites of the Iranian nuclear project“, the statement said. “The attack hit more than 80 targets, including the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Defense, the headquarters of the nuclear project and other places where the Iranian regime has hidden the nuclear archive“, the statement said.

The press service noted that “the Air Force attacked more than 170 targets and more than 720 military infrastructure sites“ in Iran in less than three days. The Air Force "continues to escalate attacks on Iran's nuclear threat, damaging its core and depriving it of critical capabilities and components for weapons production," the military added.

Tehran's air defense systems have been operational during daylight hours for the first time since the start of the conflict with Israel.

In preparation for an attack on Iran, Israel has been secretly delivering components for assembling drones and ammunition in suitcases, trucks and containers for several months, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported, citing its sources.

According to their information, the Mossad intelligence service has been preparing for the operation for several years, having studied the location of air defense systems and missile launchers. Israeli agents brought the drones to Iran in parts and assembled them on site.

According to one of the sources, small armed units disabled Iranian air defense systems and missile launchers before they could be launched. As the newspaper notes, this operation explains the limited nature of Iran's response to the Israeli attacks.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that they had struck a facility in Iran's Isfahan province and said that the military believes Tehran is working to build nuclear weapons at the facility.

“The IDF struck a major nuclear facility in Isfahan province, where the Iranian military was enriching uranium for the purpose of building nuclear weapons“, IDF spokesman Avihai Edri said in Arabic.

Edri said that Iranian authorities “have been building infrastructure facilities at the facility necessary for enriching uranium for military purposes“ since 2021.
