Russia is solving the problem of securing military spending with dignity.
This was stated to journalists by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
„Westerners are behaving like babies born only yesterday when it comes to recognizing the independence of the republics in Donbas - why, what happened, how it happened, what is their fault. This will not happen. This game is over“, he said.
„They want to increase their military spending, let them increase it. This also speaks of their aggressiveness. Now I will explain why. Yes, today we have significant spending, this is 6.3% of GDP /b.r. $172 billion/, is that a lot or a little? I think it's a lot. And this, of course, is one of the problems, including budgetary ones, that we have to solve, and we are solving them with dignity“, the Russian president emphasized.
Moscow plans to reduce defense spending from 2026.
