The cause of the Air India crash has become clear - 1

The Air Accidents Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has published a preliminary report on the Air India plane crash that occurred on June 12 in Ahmedabad. The plane, which was heading to London, crashed in the Meganisi area, causing a thick column of black smoke.

The document states that work at the crash site, including filming and videotaping with a drone, has been completed, and the wreckage has been transported to a safe location near the airport.

Both engines have been removed from the crash site and are being stored in the airport hangar“, the report says.

According to preliminary findings, almost immediately after takeoff, the fuel switches for engines 1 and 2 moved from the “run“ position to “off“. A few seconds later they were restarted.

Cockpit recordings show the pilots' confusion. One asked: “Why did you shut down the engines?“ The other pilot replied: “I didn't.“

The investigation is ongoing. The AAIB is expected to release further findings in a final report. At this stage of the investigation, the bureau has not issued any safety recommendations for the Boeing 787-8 engines.

On June 12, an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner flying from Ahmedabad to London crashed shortly after takeoff. There were more than 240 people on board. Police later found one survivor from seat 11A.
