On Wednesday, Ukraine brought home a new group of prisoners of war held by Russia. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky, quoted by the „Reuters“ agency, News.bg reports.
According to him, with this group the total number of released Ukrainian soldiers exceeds 1,000 people - a result of the agreements reached during the negotiations in Turkey.
In a statement on Telegram, Zelensky specified that most of the returnees are sick or seriously wounded.
„The returning servicemen defended Ukraine in various sectors of the front“, the president emphasized. „A significant part of them had been in captivity for over three years. All are receiving the necessary medical care and key support for recovery.“
