Russian units are advancing near Volchansk in the Kharkiv region on a front about 20 km wide. This complicates the situation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in this area, as they do not have sufficient forces and resources. This was reported to TASS by military expert Andrey Marochko.

According to him, the Russian armed forces have destroyed the AFU's strongpoint near Tykhoe and have advanced into the forest in the direction of Volchanskie khutory. At the same time, over the past few days, Russian fighters have advanced in Volchansk and improved their positions in the Staritsa area.

The Russian armed forces have taken control of all the main access roads to Chasov Yar in the DPR, cutting off the possibility of supplying weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said Viktor Vodolatsky, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots.

“We have the upper hand in Chasov Yar, most of the city territory and the adjacent villages have been liberated by our armed forces. We have cut off the main transport arteries, including those through which weapons and ammunition were supplied to the Ukrainian armed forces, and today everything related to Chasov Yar is under the strict control of our group of troops,“ the agency's interlocutor said.

According to him, “the days of Nazi occupation” of Chasov Yar are counted.

Chasov Yar is an important point for the Ukrainian armed forces, where since 2017 a multi-stage fortification system has been developing as the headquarters of the so-called anti-terrorist operation of Ukraine in Donbas.

Earlier, military expert Andrey Marochko told TASS that during the offensive in the vicinity of Chasov Yar, Russian fighters improved their positions in the area of Grigorivka and Stupochki, and also advanced towards Maysky, located northwest of the city. According to him, Russian fighters control almost the entire Chasov Yar, and only one district of the city, Shevchenkovsky, remains under the control of the Ukrainian armed forces.
