One person has died in a large-scale forest fire in the Aude department in southern France, Reuters reported, citing local authorities, BTA reports.
The fire is growing “very quickly”, according to official information, and 1,820 firefighters are engaged in controlling it. As a result of the disaster, about 2,500 households in the area have been left without electricity, the authorities' statement also stated.
President Emmanuel Macron said on the “Ex“ platform (formerly Twitter) that all available state resources have been mobilized to contain the fire.
