His comment comes against the backdrop of the meeting between Putin and Trump in Alaska on August 15. It will be in the absence of a representative from Kiev.
"Putin is not ready for realistic negotiations. His main task at this stage is to delay and deceive the US administration. He is trying to moderate the peace process in a war that he himself started. But he does not want peace, because in fact, war is now the only tool that confirms Russia's global subjectivity. Without conflict, Moscow loses its weight in the world. "That's why Putin is not in the mood for negotiations in Zelensky's presence," Podoliak explained to Corriere della Sera.
