Hurricane "Erin" in the Atlantic Ocean has strengthened to a Category 2, the US National Hurricane Center said, Reuters reported.
"Erin" is about 400 km east-northeast of the Caribbean self-governing British overseas territory of Anguilla with maximum sustained winds of 160 km/h, the Miami-based institution said.
Meteorologists expect the hurricane to rapidly strengthen significantly this weekend.
