Drone attacks targeting Russian refineries, which were launched in August, led to the shutdown of at least four major oil tankers and the loss of the economy of one week of oil refining capacity, according to estimates by The Moscow Times.
On August 2, the "Hovokybyshevsk" refinery of "Rosneft" with a capacity of 8.3 million tons per year was shut down following a drone attack. On August 11, the company's refinery in Capatov, with a capacity of 5.8 million tons per year, stopped receiving cypovine.
On August 15, it became clear that the "Bolgograd" of "Lyĸoil" - the largest in South Pysia, with a capacity of 14.8 million tons per year, was closed. On the same day, with ice cream, the "Camapa" of "Pocneft" with a capacity of 8.5 million tons per year, it stopped receiving oil for processing.
In addition, on August 2, approximately half of the capacity of the Ryazan refinery (about 6.9 million tons out of a total of 13.8 million) - the largest among the refineries of "Rosneft", was suspended. The fuel produced there is also sold in the Moscow region.
Πo in this way, in less than three weeks, oil companies lost 44.3 million tons of annual refining capacity - that is, 13.5% of the national total capacity, estimated at 328 million tons annually according to "Bostok Capital".
Last year, according to estimates by Reuters, Russian refineries processed 267 million tons of oil - the smallest volume in the last 12 years.
The repair of the refineries of "Rosneft" in Ryazan and Khovokibyshevsk will last about a month, sources told "Reuters" earlier. As Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilov admits, the repairs are complicated by the imposed sanctions - a large part of the equipment has no Russian analogues, and the supply is slow and expensive.
As a result, in 2025 Russia will again face a shortage of gasoline: the stock exchange prices for AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline have increased by 40% and 50%, respectively, since the beginning of the year, and reached record levels - 71,970 rubles/ton and 81,337 rubles as of August 19.
