All ministers from the Dutch "New Social Contract" (NSD) party are resigning from the cabinet.
This was confirmed by a party spokesman after Foreign Minister Kaspar Veldkamp resigned last night, citing the lack of freedom to formulate his own policy against Israel within the cabinet. This was reported by the Dutch National News Agency ANP.
This means that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Social Affairs Eddy van Heijum is resigning from his post. The same applies to Interior Minister Judith Oytermark and Education Minister Epo Broijns. Daniel Jansen, who has been the health minister for the NOD since this summer, when the Freedom Party left the cabinet and withdrew all its ministers, will also step down.
The state secretaries for legal protection (Theun Stroiken), taxes (Tjebe van Oostenbruggen), compensation (Sandra Palmen) and foreign trade (Haneke Burma) are also stepping down. Burma, like Minister Jansen, has only been in the caretaker cabinet for a few months.
