Italian volunteer Luca Cecca, fighting alongside the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has died. There has been no information about him since last year, the Italian news agency ANSA reported, quoted by BTA.
The news of the death was announced on the page “Memorial of the International Volunteer for Ukraine“ on “Facebook“, dedicated to the memory of foreigners who fell in Ukraine.
“Our beloved Italian brother Luca Cecca, who served as a volunteer in Ukraine, fell on the battlefield. Honor, glory and gratitude for our brother“, the post reads under the published photo of Cecca.
Luca Cecca was born in Rome 34 years ago and his death was confirmed by sources familiar with the matter. He was officially declared missing in December last year. Other sources say he died fighting in the Donetsk region.
The “Facebook“ page also reports the deaths of Colombian volunteer Jimmy Mosquera Cuero and Frenchman Eric Coursier. Checa is the ninth Italian to die in the war in Ukraine, after Thomas d'Alba, Antonio Omar Dridi, Manuel Mamelli, Angelo Costanza, Massimiliano Galletti, Elia Puzzolu (fighting on the side of pro-Russian forces), Benjamin Giorgio Galli and Edi Ongaro.
