Norwegian emergency services are searching for a man missing after a large landslide north of the city of Trondheim, DPA reported.
A large crater suddenly appeared this morning on the E6 highway and the parallel railway line. Photos show that part of the ground has collapsed into nearby Lake Nesvatnet.
According to the NTB news agency, two houses were evacuated and at least one car fell into the water. Another person who was traveling in the car and was caught in the landslide managed to free himself and was taken to hospital.
The cause of the disaster is not yet clear, a spokesman for the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation NRK.
