Turkish security forces have arrested 161 suspects for links to the terrorist organization „Islamic State“ (DAESH) in a series of operations over the past week, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced, quoted by Türkiye Today, BTA reports.
According to Yerlikaya, anti-terror teams carried out simultaneous operations in 38 provinces, including Ankara and Istanbul. The detainees are accused of membership in „Islamic State“ and providing financial support to the group.
The minister added that illegal weapons, organizational documents and digital materials were confiscated during the operations.
