The flashing green light at traffic lights is back. This is possible after a change in the regulation for organizing traffic on roads with traffic lights.
It is in force from May 14, 2025.
The flashing green light was introduced in Sofia in 2016. It was then quickly implemented in other major cities. In 2021, the Sofia Municipality decided to eliminate the flashing green lights.
With the new regulation, the flashing light is back in the capital.
“A flashing green light - warns of the approaching end of the permitting signal“, the regulation says.
