For many years we listened to the advice of the IMF, which was focused on taking the money back and ruining our state. Which they did perfectly. This was said on the air of "Denyat na Live" on NOVA NEWS, the president of the "Podkrepa" coalition Dimitar Manolov.
"We have not owed the IMF anything for a long time and I sincerely hope that the day will not come when we will have to owe them something again. We do not have loans from the IMF, from then on what we do is our own business. But in the recommendations they have given, there are things that are relevant", explained Manolov.
“I heard the first reactions from the parliament, and from leading figures. They said something that I expect to happen, namely that the IMF recommendations that concern poor people will be strictly implemented, but in no case will they touch the pets - the maximum social security income and the flat tax”, he believes.
The IMF stated that one of the reasons for the high inflation is the increase in wages, but Manolov categorically disagrees. “Income growth should certainly be ahead, we are very behind. All this is due to the fact that we listened to the IMF in previous years”.
“Income should certainly grow at least with the inflation rate, although it should be at a higher rate due to the strong lag in relation to other European countries”, Manolov believes.
"The transition to the euro will not be calm and smooth, as it has never been anywhere. Yes, there will be some shocks, but the question is that they should be within some acceptable limits. It is clear that they will be at the expense of the majority of the population, but it is good that the pets that we take care of all our lives also participate in this work”, commented the president of the "Podkrepa" CT.
According to him, for many years now, all people involved in politics have admitted that the flat tax needs to be adjusted, but no one dares to do it.
Manolov explained that what scares him about the introduction of the euro are the increasing prices. “We see that little by little the prices in the stores are being pushed up. This strange ratio, which is both close to 2 and not 2, gives results that are not good”.
“I agree that the pension insurance will jump by 1% as of January 1st. The social security contribution is shared between the employee and the employer. We will pay more, but we will also receive greater benefits. The day will come when we will ask ourselves why our pension is so low. This will not solve the deficit in the pension fund, but it will reduce it,” he said.
“Expenses are emerging that are difficult to reject in the budget for next year. They are mostly related to armaments, because this is a trend throughout the EU. These are the most unproductive expenses and are always at the expense of social”, Manolov added.
According to him, the idea of Bulgarians returning from abroad is very good, but untenable. “These people have left Bulgaria and created their own way of life and comfort, their children are no longer Bulgarians. We should not rely on this”, he commented
