Over 200 l/m² in five hours: Discussing whether to declare a state of emergency in Tsarevo Municipality

The Tsarevo Municipality has issued recommendations to citizens in the region. The local authorities have advised people living near rivers and water bodies to be on the alert, as 200 l/m² have fallen in the last five hours.

A crisis headquarters will meet to discuss whether to declare a state of emergency or partial state of emergency. “The situation is critical, but there is no room for panic. There are no people in danger and no isolated settlements”, said Mayor Marin Kirov on the air of “Hello, Bulgaria”. There have been times when households have been left without electricity, but the damage is being repaired.

Traffic on “Mikhail Gerdzhikov” Street is suspended until the situation normalizes. A bypass artery until then is “Buzludzha” Street.

Undermining and compromising of the road to the village of Izgrev has been established. “Do not undertake a trip to and from this direction until a thorough inspection has been carried out. We urge you not to undertake trips to and from the village of Arapya and the settlement of Nestinarka”, recommends the Municipality of Tsarevo.

According to the director of the fire department, the situation in the area of Kraimorie, the fishing village of Chengene Skele and the “Strandzha” hut is currently the most serious. A fire truck has been sent to the Chernitsiye holiday village to assess on site whether there is a need to evacuate the residents.

The river in the village of Kosti has overflowed and evacuation of the residents of the settlement has been necessary.
