Doncho Barbalov: The budget brought us into the eurozone. I don't see any damage or casualties

He believes that the information campaign about the euro is going well: "There are already many meetings in places. The silence on the topic is a good thing, because the questions of people and businesses have found their answers."

Finances are tense, the economy is under the influence of various external shocks and crises, but we are doing very well. It is wise to act thoughtfully. People have nothing to worry about. This was stated by Doncho Barbalov, Deputy Minister of Economy and Industry, on BNT.

„The budget brought us into the eurozone. I don't see any damage or casualties. Compared to 2024, we have a serious increase in budget revenues, a deficit of 2.4%“, he emphasized.

He believes that the information campaign about the euro is going well: „There are already many meetings in places. The silence on the subject is a good thing, because the questions of people and businesses have found their answers.“

“The ministry monitors the international prices of 30 goods and services so that we have an early warning system if they increase. According to him, food prices are stable and there is no change in these international prices this year“, Barbalov added.

“The US tariffs have created a lot of fluctuations on a global scale. However, this is already subsiding, things are getting back to normal“, he added.
