"Sofekostroy" is expected to organize the service of the "Lyulin" district next week. The company's base is located in "Lyulin", which will facilitate the expansion of its activities. This was stated to journalists by the Deputy Mayor for Ecology Nadezhda Bobcheva in connection with the garbage crisis in the two districts "Lyulin" and "Krasno Selo".
The vision and concept of the Sofia Municipality is the entire zone 6, that is, the districts "Lyulin", "Krasna Polyana" and "Krasno Selo", to be serviced by "Sofekostroy".
We are currently holding specific talks with them about the assignment of all activities in their entirety. I mean both the machine sweeping and snow removal, as well as the overall preparation and equipment, so that we can sign a contract and assign everything to them, said Deputy Mayor for Ecology Nadezhda Bobcheva.
Regarding the remaining areas, Bobcheva explained that a decision is expected from the Commission for the Protection of Competition for Zone 4. These are the areas "Nadezhda", "Serdika" and "Vrabnitsa". There is already a selected contractor there.
And we asked the CPC to allow us to proceed with signing a contract, despite the fact that the appeal has not been completed - that is, to have preliminary execution. Thus, the selected contractor will be able to start work when the current contract expires. We are expecting this decision – it is not yet a fact, explained Bobcheva.
Due to the fact that the most recent contract expiration is that for the so-called third zone – the districts of "Poduyane", "Izgrev" and "Slatina", for the last two weeks we have been maintaining quite active contact with the three district mayors.
Today, at the end of the working day, we have a scheduled meeting where we will comment on what comes next and where we are going if we have to switch to a new crisis organization, so that all tasks and commitments are distributed, and we have clarity about the expected costs that we need to make in order to be able to meet this situation, she also stated.
