The return of the lottery to Peevski's family wallet and its appropriation of the Burgas refinery prove that the MRF - New Beginning and GERB government needs huge financial flows to divert into the right pockets. This was stated by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev and called on all citizens to join tomorrow's protest against the draft budget at 6:00 PM on Independence Square.

“The protest tomorrow is not just about walking around the parliament and is not political, but civil, because Peevski and Borisov have declared a real war on the middle class in Bulgaria. Peevski has been angry with the middle class since 2013, when it prevented him from heading the State Agency for National Security and all the current proposals in the draft budget for next year are revenge against it,” said Mirchev, who added that GERB leader Boyko Borisov has also joined the march against citizens with a disastrous draft budget, the preparation of which lacks any dialogue with business and citizens.

The political leader warned that with the proposed budget, the leadership of DPS - New Beginning and GERB is preparing to deal a heavy blow to hundreds of thousands of traders and businesses with the introduction of special state software.

“What are we doing with SUPTO? This is the software in question, which affects nearly 100,000 companies and traders, who will have to install it and each of them will have to pay nearly 1,000 leva for no reason, without the state having any idea why this is being introduced,” Mirchev emphasized and welcomed the inclusion of employers’ organizations in tomorrow’s protest.

The People’s Representative from the PP-DB group once again raised the alarm that the sale of the Burgas refinery “Lukoil-Neftochim” will give Peevski its 9-10 billion leva annual turnover. According to Mirchev, even a small part of this amount will be enough to keep the current government in power.

“This government can allocate about 7 billion leva to buy the refinery “Lukoil-Neftochim” in Burgas - 2 billion euros are the additional guarantees and with what is available in the BDB, it becomes about 7 billion leva. It is not at all clear what degree of transparency there will be, how the state decides to give such a huge sum. There is no country in the civilized world that would return and buy a refinery in this way - neither in Italy nor in Germany have the cases with Russian refineries ended this way. This is particularly worrying, especially in the context of our government, where it is clear that the captain is Peevski, and everyone else fulfills his wishes,” Mirchev was categorical.

The co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” reminded that his formation from the very beginning proposed to look for an adequate Western investor to purchase the refinery. The politician also said that there have been quite a few potential buyers since January 2025, because the refinery is one of the most modern.

“Unfortunately, it seems that Peevski will buy the refinery with billions of Bulgarian citizens' money and then we have no doubt what will happen. Peevski has proven that whatever he buys, he bankrupts it. This happened with both “Bulgartabac” and “Lafka”, and the theft of Corpbank cost Bulgarian citizens 4.7 billion leva. Now, most likely, the billions will be more, because after we buy the refinery, we will then have to pay the losses generated by the price at which the refinery's oil will be sold and then the fuels will be purchased,” concluded Mirchev.
