Rosen Zhelyazkov: We are starting the budget procedure anew, restoring the dialogue with the tripartite

We must put the interests of citizens above our political understandings, the Prime Minister called

We consider last night's protest as an expression of a spontaneous reaction, a clear sign that we must put the interests of citizens above our political understandings. This was stated by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov at a rostrum in the National Assembly, a reporter for "Focus" reported.

The budget will be withdrawn and revised, it became clear from the Prime Minister's words.

"This tension was dictated in recent weeks by the understanding that there is a disrupted social dialogue. My appeal, especially to the representatives of the opposition, is to show reason," the prime minister said, adding that they are aware that they are in a difficult governing majority.

"Social tension requires specific and very clear answers on how to preserve social peace," Zhelyazkov also said. He announced that talks with unions and employers are being resumed.

"We need stability and confidence. We are obliged to make this process clear and to give the society a sign that the state is governed by them," said Zhelyazkov.

"The government, together with colleagues from the majority, will again request that credit of trust from the social partners to make the process of the budget procedure visible, clear and satisfactory for everyone," he also said.

The Prime Minister assured that they have enough time to achieve the expectations that are highlighted as defects in the draft budget, in order to have a budget that meets the political spectrum.

Earlier, GERB leader Boyko Borisov told journalists that he "requested that this budget be withdrawn until the dialogue with the tripartite is restored, until everyone sits down and understands how it will be governed in the coming years.".
