The people at the protest expect something to happen to have fair elections. If the scenario from the last parliamentary elections is repeated, the tension could escalate to a much greater extent than now, when the government's resignation is being demanded. It is important that the citizens' vote be protected. This was said in the program "Face to Face" on BTV by the chairman of the association "Civil Platform" Petar Slavov.

He announced that the association is proposing 10 specific measures aimed at restoring the fairness of the electoral process and restoring trust in the elections.

Among the proposed measures are the restoration of machine voting with machine counting, as well as the possibility of voting by paper, the removal of a number of privileges for the so-called. political functionaries, starting with the fact that they have the opportunity to run from two lists, as well as that only people with a clean criminal record should be in the section election commissions, Slavov specified.

It is obvious that we cannot go to the next elections without any changes after the decision of the Constitutional Court, said Daniel Stefanov, a political scientist and expert on electoral systems.

The Constitutional Court showed that there are mistakes, but they are not systematic. We must address these mistakes. The point is that we seem to have missed the moment for this again, because such changes can only be made in "peaceful" time – in the period we are in now, not many changes can be made. The changes that we need to make are such that every party can accept them. Every party must have confidence in the election process. We should not seriously change the Election Code at the last minute. We should not work in a similar way with the rules, because we see where this leads us, Stefanov also said.
