Representatives of the parliamentary group "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" (APS) met at "Dondukov" 2 with President Rumen Radev as part of the consultations before the handing over of the mandate to form a government.
On behalf of the formation, MPs Khairy Sadakov, Taner Ali, Sevim Ali and Yavor Haitov went to the head of state.
Rumen Radev began consultations on Monday with GERB-SDF and "We continue the change – Democratic Bulgaria", on Tuesday the head of state talked with "Vazrazhdane" and "DPS – New beginnings", and yesterday – with "BSP – United Left" and "There is such a people" (ITN). Later today he will meet with representatives of MECH.
„One of the big problems of the 51st National Assembly is that it gradually stopped listening to the voice of the people“, said President Rumen Radev at the beginning of the consultation.
„Your party withstood enormous pressure not only in parliament, but also in the country. You follow the pulse of your voters, so the question I ask the political parties – "Do they still see life in this parliament in a different management configuration, what do your voters think, because this is important," the head of state also said.
„If we go to elections, how can we guarantee the honesty and transparency of the vote, Rumen Radev asked the representatives of the APS. In the previous parliamentary elections, we faced a number of problems, such as organization and procedures, which the Constitutional Court also took into account“, the president noted.
"We were the first to clearly state - a year and a half ago, about setting the “Peevski“ model and the need for a reaction", said Khayri Sadakov, chairman of the APS PG.
"We did not support the first “Zhelyazkov" cabinet, we went through elections that gave many answers. We tried to support a cabinet within the 51st National Assembly with the idea that very important priorities would be implemented - there are the eurozone, Schengen. This model of state governance had to be stopped. Secondly, we had to leave this cabinet that we had supported, we reached the public reaction in the square", Sadakov pointed out.
"It is practically impossible to form a cabinet in this parliament. More than 130 deputies formed and supported this government and were challenged by society", Sadakov said.
"Electoral manipulations should not be allowed if it comes to the electoral process. Perhaps we should seek national consent for elections under rules that guarantee honesty and transparency of the elections," he also pointed out.
