Regardless of the severe nihilism towards the Constitution demonstrated by the Bulgarian parties, the presidential institution will go the entire constitutional route – the mandates will be awarded as the texts are, we will wait for them to think. We heard that no formation believes that there can be another government within this National Assembly. Therefore, when the roulette wheel is spun, the date for the elections will be set. Everyone asked the president to make this happen at the end of March. He will probably schedule the elections then. We will see. In any case, the first term will be awarded after the parliamentary recess. This was stated by Vice President Iliana Yotova to journalists, quoted by Nova TV.

She expressed hope for a high voter turnout, and also indicated that she sees a desire among the people for change and for participation in a new vote in order to bring about a “new configuration in the country”.

Iliyana Yotova said that the change in the Constitution was made not just against the presidential institution, but against Rumen Radev. “But even when you do such evil things, you have to be a professional to know how to do them. And such a mess has been created that it is difficult to get out of”, she added.

The Vice President also said that some parties have already expressed a desire for the old texts of the Constitution to be returned. “Let's be realistic – "they will not have enough time to find this constitutional majority," she stressed.

Yotova did not answer the question of whether she would be nominated for president of the country.

The vice president also commented on the situation in which Bulgarian municipalities find themselves. According to Yotova, the state owes a lot to municipalities - both in terms of infrastructure and projects. “Especially in recent years, when it seemed that municipalities were helping the state more than the state was helping the municipalities. In these turbulent and worrying times, what citizens will rely on is local government. Governments come and go, mayors remain and they, together with municipal councils, must respond to all the problems of the people and therefore they must be helped”, she added.
