Ivo Hristov: Rumen Radev wants to win an absolute majority

The appeal to society has been clear since 2020

The appeal to the president to get involved in politics comes precisely from the despair of the current political stall. People have thrown up their hands from what they have. This was stated in "The Day Begins" on BNT by Ivo Hristov, former chief of staff to President Rumen Radev.

"The appeal to society has been clear since 2020 and literally every time the president shook hands with the people who greeted him around the country, as far as I have traveled with him, the question was the same. This demand has accelerated over time, recently it has been talked about only and only about this."

According to Hristov, tension was not created in society by the president, but by politicians.

"I don't think anyone sought to create tension. Political opponents often did it. Even at the consultations with the president, they said - "Come, get down to the political field."

When asked if "Our Bulgaria" would be the name of Rumen Radev's political project, Ivo Hristov replied:

"Our Bulgaria" - I don't know if they discussed such an option, but it is a good name. In recent years, it is precisely the derebeyan attitude towards Bulgaria that has repelled and outraged people. It is good for every Bulgarian to know that each of us has an equal share of the present of our homeland."

"The political class hastened to stamp and certify President Radev as the only alternative. Since, to my surprise, Kostadin Kostadinov, General Atanasov, and various intellectuals from the right-wing subscriptions stood in a united front, who responded with internal factory humor, some attempts at irony. The common denominator covered all existing parties, which shows that there is no other alternative to the current model."

Regarding the definitions that Radev indirectly gave for the PP-DB in his address to the nation, Hristov commented:

"Radev follows the line of speaking the truth - the PP-DB came to power with a request to fight corruption, put together the assembly and set about laundering its opponents. This is the summary of the actions of the PP-DB in power, along the way they managed to destroy the Constitution and now Professor Kirov and other constitutionalists are wondering how to explain the labyrinths of the new Constitution."

The former presidential advisor emphasized that there is no change in the behavior of the PP-DB.

"Everyone has the right to evolve, but there is no repentance, on the contrary, they persist."

Ivo Hristov pointed out that Radev's aspiration will be to achieve an absolute majority.

" My opinion is that either we should strive for an absolute majority and this can only be done with a massive vote of the people, or in the extreme case, a program government can be concluded with a very short horizon of a few months, a clear date for the next elections. And this program government should do some urgent things, like changes to the judicial system, which is already questioning its own legitimacy. They themselves don't know who is legitimate and who is not."
