Witnesses are being questioned about a crash on the Maritsa Motorway, in which a 66-year-old Turk died

The District Prosecutor's Office in Haskovo is monitoring pre-trial proceedings for the transport accident on the "Maritsa" motorway, in which a truck driver, a Turkish citizen, died yesterday morning, the prosecutor's office announced.

During the investigation, an inspection of the scene was carried out, witnesses are to be questioned and expert reports are to be ordered, the state prosecution specified.

According to the information, the driver who died on the spot is 66 years old. He crashed his truck into another heavy-duty vehicle driven by a Moldovan citizen.

According to the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Haskovo, the incident, which was reported to the emergency number 112, occurred shortly after 6:30 a.m. in the emergency lane of the highway in the direction of Turkey, before the "Kapitan Andreevo" border crossing.
