The Energy Committee of the Parliament will hear the resigned Minister of Energy Zhecho Stankov, the Chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, as well as electricity suppliers. The reason - the numerous complaints about inflated bills for January.

Last week, the Energy Ministry and the Energy Regulatory Commission began extraordinary inspections due to complaints received about excessively high electricity bills.

The results of the inspections have not yet been announced, but at the beginning of the inspections, the Energy Minister announced that electricity consumption in January was nearly 30% higher than in December. In case EWRC finds violations among electricity suppliers, they will be sanctioned.
