Deputies return for their autumn session ahead of schedule with an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday. The reason - bills related to the last payment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

This was reported by "Nova TV"

First on Monday, the Legal Affairs Committee meets, which will consider changes to the Civil Servant Act. They are related to the PVP, and the deadline for their adoption is August 31.

The priority tasks of the ruling and opposition parties that they set for themselves overlap. They are related to Budget 2027, which according to "Progressive Bulgaria" will enter the chamber by October. The second important topic - Judicial reform and the election of a new composition of the Supreme Judicial Council. According to the ruling party, this could happen as early as early November.

An extraordinary session of parliament on Tuesday interrupts the MPs' recess a day early. "There are bills related to the PVU that must be completed, adopted and promulgated by August 31", explained the chairman of the "Progressive Bulgaria" PG; Petar Vitanov.

The ruling party and the opposition outlined a number of important steps, but two topics stand out among them - the first, Budget 2027.

"We are very concerned that the government is failing to cope with rising inflation, prices, they have failed to control the growth of the consumer basket, fuel prices. Unfortunately, we are also observing a failure in the field of security and foreign policy", said Georg Georgiev from GERB.

"The most important thing is to adopt the budget in November. For us as a political party, the most important thing is to preserve people's incomes and preserve peace in the state", emphasized Dimo Drenchev from "Vazrazhdane".

Radan Kanev from "Democratic Bulgaria" was categorical that: "We are carefully analyzing the government's management program. We will monitor closely whether these bold priorities, set out in this rather wishful list, will find their support in the budget".

The governing parties assured that they are already working on preparing the new budget plan, which, according to them, will reflect the set program of Progressive Bulgaria. And they see a deficit of just over 3% as a feasible task.

"We planned 3.7-3.8 percent according to the preliminary forecast. Military spending has been taken out of brackets, so we may enter the Maastricht criteria. This will be the first budget that reflects the policies of "Progressive Bulgaria" and it will not be a set-piece. There will be many interesting things in it," said Petar Vitanov from "Progressive Bulgaria".

A second important step by the end of the year - the election of a new composition of the Supreme Judicial Council. The deadline they have set is the beginning of November.

"We are already in talks with the other parties that declare a desire to break with the Borisov-Peevski model. Because even for first graders it is clear that the judicial system is anything but independent, that the judicial system is a shame," Vitanov pointed out.

Only "Democratic Bulgaria" confirmed that there were talks, but not about names. "The positive scenario is one in which over 2/3 of the MPs unite behind figures with an impeccable biography," explained Radvan Kanev.
