May 2nd will is uneducational for students throughout the country, as well as for Bulgarian public schools abroad, announced the Ministry of Education and Culture.
„The decision was made after a dialogue with all interested parties – parent organizations, school principals, trade unions, as well as analysis of data from the whole country”, Minister Galin Tsokov explained.
In his words, many of the mayors have already issued orders to declare May 2 non-school day in their municipalities. There are 1,414 schools in these municipalities, where more than half a million children study – over 70% of all students in the country.
Thus, there will be a total of six days off for students at the beginning of next month - from May 1 to 6 inclusive.
