Nearly 52 thousand farmers will receive about BGN 300 million in so-called Ukrainian aid until May 15, 2024.

Nearly 52 thousand agricultural producers will receive about BGN 300 million under the so-called Ukrainian aid until May 15, 2024. The Ukrainian aid funds had to be paid by April 22. They were agreed at the beginning of the year with the “Denkov” after protests by farmers.

"Farmers desperately needed the money, albeit late, the important thing is to get it. We are most likely heading for a budget update later in the year. Even if we don't have a government, we will have a National Assembly to make them," he said on "The Live Day". the former chairman of the agricultural commission in the National Assembly, Plamen Abrovski.

According to his words, at the front office, when negotiations were conducted and agreements were signed, the Minister of Finance was not present. "The EC has refused state aid to individuals. We are creating an unequal situation among farmers because we are providing state aid not for legal entities," he believes.
