Kiril Petkov: Rosen Zhelyazkov was not free

If all this was his doing and based on what Rosen Zhelyazkov himself thought, we would simply say: "well, a political opponent, he doesn't play clean, he doesn't play nice, but an opponent, who is free," Petkov pointed out

The procedural problems and the violation of rules were because Rosen Zhelyazkov was not free. This is what the co-chairman of “Continuing the Change“ Kiril Petkov during an event broadcast on the party's Facebook page. He, as well as Asen Vasilev, also co-chairman of the PP, and People's Representative Nikolay Denkov answered one question each, asked by the moderator of the event.

On April 17, the parliament dismissed the manager of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Stanimir Mihailov. Last week we had a head of the NHIF, who had not yet resigned, who appeared in court, and although there was no resignation, and he was in court – Zhelyazkov put his so-called resignation, which did not exist, to a vote and did not give him the floor, Petkov said, adding that this was just one small example. These little examples have been happening to us for the past nine months non-stop and you know what's troubling – it's not that some kind of procedural trick is being played, it's not even that she looked him in the eyes so much and didn't give him a chance to say why she was doing it, commented Petkov.

"If all this was his doing and based on what Rosen Zhelyazkov himself thought, we would simply say: “ well, a political opponent, he does not play cleanly, he does not play nicely, but an opponent who is free," he pointed out Petkov. According to him, the real problem is that all these decisions, including this one, were not his. They belonged to Mr. Peevski," Petkov believes.

Every single one of these procedural problems, violation of rules, violation even of the Constitution in one of the times, was not because he did not realize what he was doing, but because he had no choice, because he was not free, commented Petkov. According to him, the political message to GERB was: “we will not participate with you anymore, until you become free from this huge problem you have, from this millstone that has attached itself to you” and clarified that it is "Delyan Peevski as the person who currently holds permanent power." It is a vote of no confidence in anyone who is not free in this chamber. You can have ideological differences with us, you can have different visions, but you must be free".

Asen Vassilev was asked a question related to a meeting organized by Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski between the Mayor of Yambol and the Acting Minister of Finance. According to the co-chairman of the PP, if we return to this, the old model of financing municipalities, it is extremely bad for the state for two reasons – there is no fair distribution of money among all municipalities according to objective principles and criteria, and a mayor, in order to do something for the citizens in his municipality, must become dependent on political leaders, which, in his words, means that local self-government becomes a mirage.

Nikolay Denkov commented on the decision by which the Parliament obliged the Council of Ministers to provide funds from the state budget to "Mini Maritsa East". EAD in the amount of BGN 250 million per year for a period of four years in order to ensure technical reclamation activities of disturbed areas of the “Istochnomariska coal basin” deposit.

"The problem of the miners and the energy workers is that they were consistently, systematically, persistently lied to by everyone, and today it continued, because they were promised BGN 1 billion from our money, from all of us, who the moment they started to be given to them, the European Commission will establish the obvious – that they are impermissible state aid, and then we will still have to pay them because they are impermissible state aid. Meanwhile, without making much noise, we secured BGN 2.3 billion for the regions of Stara Zagora, Pernik and Kyustendil," he said.

After that, each of the three of them gave a few minute presentation. This was followed by questions from those present.
