Boom in fake tops, reports the Bulgarian National Bank. In the first three months of this year, more than 200 counterfeit banknotes and about 30 invalid coins were registered in our country. The 50 BGN and 20 BGN banknotes lead the ranking.
Citizens of Berkovitsa say that they are cautious when shopping, so as not to be cheated with fake money. “Fake notes are slightly thicker than others. When you touch them, you immediately feel it. Once they tried to cheat me with a 20 BGN banknote, but when I touched the paper I recognized that it was not real, said a woman from the city, reports NOVA.
One of the most common ways to recognize counterfeit banknotes is the watermark. Every real banknote is embossed and the paper it is made from is not equal in all its parts. Another sign is the hologram strip, which at different angles changes its color and the images on it.
