CEC Deputy Chairman Rositsa Mateva stated that when two types of elections are scheduled on the same day, the Electoral Code requires that the polygraphic protection be in a different color on the back of the ballots. She explained that since in these elections voting is done on a proportional list and the ballots are similar, the CEC has decided that the ballots should also be in a different color on the front side, reports Dariknews.bg.
The ballot for people's representatives will be in green - on the back and front of the obverse. The numbers of the parties, coalitions and preferences are written in green on the ballot.
The MEP ballot is blue. In the elections for members of the European Parliament, there is one list of candidates - 17 candidates, it is the same for the whole country and for voting outside the country.
Mateva explained that when voting with paper ballots, before voters vote in the circle with preferences, if they wish to support a certain candidate, they must vote in the square with the number of the party or coalition that nominated the candidate. If voting is done only in the circles - this makes the vote invalid. Voters must first vote in the box with the party or coalition number.
The ballots are 50 cm long. Two stamps will be placed on their backs - the first when the ballot is pulled from the cob, and the second before it is dropped into the ballot box. >
Regarding the electronic ballot - the software used in the local elections is used.
Mateva reminded that today at 00:00 Bulgarian time, the deadline expires in which voters abroad can submit applications to be included in electoral lists for voting outside the country.
So far, there are 8,337 confirmed applications for members of the EP, and 34,069 for people's representatives. By the end of the week, the CEC will adopt a decision that will determine the places in the countries where there will be polling stations.
