As Mrs. Lidiya Shuleva very well defined it: "The convening at an extraordinary meeting for pensions it is a storm in a glass of water”. It has already been resolved. The deputies intend to discuss not only pensions, but also the price of electricity and other things. This means that they will turn this extraordinary meeting into a pre-election tribune, said the program "Newsroom” on Radio "Focus“ the economist Mika Zaikova.

"There is no problem with pensions and their 11% increase from July 1. If anything will be discussed, it will be the illiteracy of the former Finance Minister Asen Vassilev regarding the structuring of both the State Budget and the State Social Insurance budget, she commented.

Mika Zaikova also predicts that Bulgaria will join the Eurozone in 2026 at the earliest.

"Not inflation, but the deficit will be the reason why we will not be accepted in the Eurozone. There's just no way to fill it. In this situation of revenue fulfillment and spending waste, the deficit in our country will be over 3%, the economist predicts.

"Don't forget that there are also European elections. The new European Parliament will not look like the current one. It will be far more colorful and it will be very difficult to choose a European Commission, very difficult until the end of the year there will be a European Commissioner who will accept Bulgaria's request for a possible report to return to us in 2025. So the euro in our country – at the earliest 2026, most realistically 2027”, concluded Mika Zaikova.
