The former employee in the NSO, Academician Rumen Ralchev stated that the expertise on the speed should be awaited, but there was undoubtedly an offense committed by the deceased driver in the accident with the NSO car.

"NSO drivers are not above the law. There must be a pilot car, and not just one. The procession has a warning character to avoid this type of "stare, hurry" type of case. This unfortunate incident shows two or three things: the gentleman's offense is indisputable; how much that speed, if it was higher, was it the driver's idea or was it ordered. The driver does not have to carry out the order, but if he does not carry it out, another person comes in his place the next day, he commented in "The Day ON AIR".

Acad. Ralchev noted that what was provided to Kiril Petkov by the NSO was a form of security - an armed and trained driver to guarantee his integrity and his accident-free space as much as possible.

"As a former prime minister, if there are threats, and they are ascertained by the competent authorities, there is a three-member committee that makes the final decision and assesses the level of security. It is given the lowest level of protection. There is a big moral problem when there is a victim, regardless of whether she is guilty or not", emphasized the guest of Bulgaria ON AIR.

According to him, it is excluded that the NSO car was faulty. Extremely strict controls are carried out in the National Police Service, and the serviceability of the cars is continuous, assured Academician Ralchev and added that the driver must not have consumed alcohol and rested.

"When a big boss comes, he brings his driver with him. He undergoes tests and if he passes, he is added to the NSO list. Salary in the NSO in the last 5 years has lagged and this has led to high turnover and withdrawal of personnel, including drivers. 15 places are wanted, 10 people show up. Somewhere things are not completely cleared. Exceptional personnel are born, but it becomes impossible to retain them", he warns.
