From the company „ALFAGIS“ Ltd. sent an open letter in response to allegations on national air by GERB-SDS deputy candidate Georgi Georgiev that "a well-known chef-chef, TV star, received BGN 100,000 to map and digitize cemeteries in the town of Bankya" .

"In connection with an interview of Mr. Georgi Georgiev – candidate for deputy from GERB-SDS, broadcast on 21.05.2024 in the morning block of BTV “This morning“ in the column “Elections 2 in 1 your voice is heard“, on behalf of the company “ALFAGIS“ Ltd., we are sending an open letter with which we draw attention to the fact that in his statement, Mr. Georgiev is attempting to damage the prestige of the company “ALFAGIS” Ltd. and in particular the manager of the company – Ivan Manchev.
On national air, Mr. Georgiev stated that a famous chef, TV star, received BGN 100,000 to map and digitize the cemeteries in the town of Bankya, given that there is a municipal company , which deals with what would cost tens of times less. These claims were made directly alongside accusations of “abuse” and “for a scandal”.
In response to what was said by Georgi Georgiev, we categorically state that there is no abuse and scandal in the signing of the contracts between the Metropolitan Municipality and “ALFAGIS” Ltd. They represent a pilot project related to the cemetery park in the town of Bankya and were concluded with full transparency to the citizens. The purpose of the project is to provide information to the public and to the management of the Metropolitan Municipality about the actual condition and activities of the cemetery park, as well as to create and make transparent management of the park. After its implementation, every single citizen will be able to check from anywhere in the world what is happening with the burial place of his deceased relatives and what is its condition, as well as whether it has not been unlawfully provided to third parties.
Georgi Georgiev also stated that “on the same day, two contracts with a similar subject were concluded with the same company – digitization, mapping of the cemetery in the town of Banka”. We categorically state that this statement is absolutely false.
The concluded contracts are indeed two, concluded on the same day, but the subjects of these contracts are not similar, on the contrary. The first contract is for the provision of the right to use developed specialized software. The subject of the second contract is the digitization and digitization of data. As a practicing lawyer, Mr. Georgiev should distinguish between these activities.
Georgi Georgiev also claims that he personally got acquainted with the contracts in question, stating that “a famous chef-chef, TV star, received BGN 100,000” from the Metropolitan Municipality. In response to this, we emphasize that as of the date of the statement, “ALFAGIS” Ltd. has not received any remuneration for the work performed by it. This will happen only after the digitization and digitization of the data of the cemetery park in the city of Bankya is completed, the GIS system is integrated – Svetlina and the work will be accepted by the Metropolitan Municipality.
The fact that on national air Mr. Georgiev speaks categorically without providing evidence, but tries to shape public opinion, is worrying. It is even more worrisome that over the years we have seen such statements during election campaigns. Georgi Georgiev is a lawyer, a member of the SAC, and a teacher at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski“ and it would follow as a professional in the field of law to know that evidence must be presented for every claim. Otherwise, these facts and circumstances are not credited, but remain words “thrown into space”.
We also ask a question to Mr. Georgiev. He claims that there is a municipal company that deals with “this”. But it does not indicate why “this“ not done by the municipal company for an amount that is “tens of times less”?
In addition, we clarify that the defined as “this” work in practice is digitization and digitization of the smallest of all plots /50 decares/, namely the Bankya cemetery park, managed and managed by the Metropolitan Municipality.
In the process of mapping and digitizing the plot, serious irregularities related to the keeping of statistics on grave sites were discovered. Although according to documents, 240 grave sites are listed as free, when they are photographed, it is clear that there are monuments and frames placed on them and they cannot be used.
240 empty grave sites are preserved and sold in a cemetery park in the town of Bankya. Can you imagine how many more irregularities can be discovered in the digitization and digitization of all the cemetery parks of the Metropolitan Municipality, which have a total area of 2,900 decares.
Last but not least, we emphasize that in his pre-election speech, Georgi Georgiev is trying to cast a shadow over the activities of a company that works with over 12 municipalities.
