Glavchev: We are ready to allocate up to BGN 10 million to overcome the damage caused by the disaster in Karlovsko

The Cabinet is ready to allocate up to BGN 10 million to finance the most urgent activities to overcome the damage caused by the disaster two years ago in Karlovsko. This was announced by Dimitar Glavchev during a meeting with the mayor of Karlovo, Emil Kabaivanov, the press service of the Council of Ministers reports.

The acting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova, the acting Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Koritarova and the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Stoyan Temelakiev also took part in the conversation in the Council of Ministers.

The Interdepartmental Commission for Recovery and Assistance will meet as a matter of urgency, which will define in detail the parameters of state aid for the affected settlements. Already at the next government meeting, the official cabinet will be able to adopt a decision on allocating the funds. Thus, after months of local government appeals for help from the state to no avail, they will now be able to continue a number of important activities on riverbeds and bridges, the government information service states.

BTA reminds that yesterday the mayor of the municipality of Karlovo, together with the mayors of the Karlovo villages that suffered from the disaster in September 2022 - Bogdan, Karavelovo, Slatina, Rozino, and Hristo Danovo and their residents blocked the Sub-Balkan road /Republicanski road I-6/ and the Troyan pass for an hour as a warning – Karnare.

For BTA, the mayor of Karlovo said that a year ago, all the difficult procedures for the selection of designers, coordination of projects, building permits, selection of contractors and contracts were concluded without any relief. Unfortunately, we have received only 20 percent of the funds from the 75 million BGN required to fully eliminate the consequences of the disasters, Kabaivanov added. , the protest will grow into an indefinite one.
