The Ministry of Internal Affairs celebrates 145 years since its establishment

The solemn ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Monument to the Unknown Warrior

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (Ministry of Internal Affairs) celebrates 145 years since its establishment, BTA reported. The solemn ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Monument to the Unknown Warrior with a water-lighting of the flags and laying of wreaths, the department announced.

At the temple-monument “Alexander Nevsky“ specialized equipment that employees of the structures in the Ministry of Internal Affairs use in their daily work will be arranged, two helicopters of the “Border Police” will also fly over.

At 10:30 a.m., the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will lay wreaths in front of the Monument to the policemen who died in the line of duty.

From 11:00 a.m. in the building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an award ceremony will be held for employees of the ministry who have achieved high professional results.

The holiday is celebrated by the Decision of the Council of Ministers of February 28, 1992. In 1879, Decree 1 was issued by Prince Alexander the First, which created the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the basis of Art. 161 of the Tarnovo Constitution. With the same decree, the first government of the Principality of Bulgaria was appointed with Todor Burmov as Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs and Head of the Ministry of Public Education.
