The Health Insurance Fund and pharmacists have agreed on the new rules for financing pharmacies. They will go into effect retroactively from July 1 and will halve the cost of processing prescriptions for free drugs, BNT reports.
"Remuneration pharmacies will receive as a percentage of the value of the dispensed medicines and it is 15%. The maximum is BGN 25 per medicinal product," said Prof. Momchil Mavrov, manager of the NHSOC.
"We are pleased with the agreement. This guarantees sustainability and predictability of the funds of the health fund. that is, the pay no longer depends on how many prescriptions the doctor issues," said Dimitar Marinov, chairman of the BFS.
